Stories and Reflections

Here are links to my blogs with stories and experiences in my own learning, working with students, and some of my students’ experiences.

Story: “10 Minutes a Day Makes an A!”: A Story of Review – A student who claims to have “memory problems” challenges himself to review for 10 minutes everyday to prove me wrong. He learns an important lesson about the importance of reviewing.

Reflection: “Working with Emergent Readers.” – This is a reflection of my own learning. I recently worked with several young readers as part of a class assignment. While these children thought I was teaching them, really they were teaching me.

Reflection: “My first semester in grad school.” – I look back on what I learned in my first semester in grad school, and make goals for my next semester.
